Seminar Extended Use of Churches 7.10.2013

Conservation Centre Kanut (Central Baltic Interreg IVa programme project “Sustainable Management of Historic Rural Churches in the Baltic Sea Region”) had pleasure to see over 80 participants in the seminar “Extended Use of Churches” in Tallinn on 7 October 2013.

The focus of the seminar was extended use of churches. The aim was to introduce the present situation and trends in Europe and boost the discussion on that matter. Our target groups werecongregations and the clergy as well as the professionals working in the field of heritage protection.

Over the past two decades, belief in God has decreased in most countries

(Reuters) – Belief in God is highest among older people and increases with age, perhaps due to the growing realization that death is coming closer, University of Chicago researchers said on Wednesday.

Summarizing data from surveys performed in 1991, 1998 and 2008 in 30 countries from Chile to Japan, the university’s National Opinion Research Center found that, on average, 43 percent of those aged 68 and older were certain that God exists.
